Scanner for MEMS-Based ID Tags
SCT was approached by an early-stage company to design a proof-of-concept platform. A key objective of the project was to keep costs to a minimum, due to limited funds. The platform was intended to support MEMS-based research for demonstrations to potential investors. The platform was key to landing an early customer and supporting it through the initial public offering.
After a successful fundraising round, SCT was re-engaged to productize the solution. We were contracted to deliver the final hardware platform. In addition to design services, SCT will coordinate manufacturing on behalf of the customer, delivering it the finished product.
Turn-Key Product Solutions
Key Objectives:
- Delivery of an integrated hardware solution incorporating multiple PCB modules, including custom industrial and mechanical design
- Embed Linux Platform with customer hardware drivers for peripherals
- Incorporation of timing critical functions implemented on FGPA
- Project management and delivery of prototype units
Asset Tracking Module
Key Objectives:
- Integration of GPS receiver, AMPs Radio and a COTS GPRS Modem into an asset tracking product
- Meet significant power supply and external IO challenges, resulting from SAE compliance requirements
Notable:
- Assigned Project Management responsibility quickly, including FW, HW and Mechanical design.
Managed Ethernet Switch
Key Objective:
- Maintain very tight schedule requiring prototypes in time for trade show
Notable:
- Passed FCC Compliance testing on first prototype
- 95% functionality on first hardware prototype
