Model SC2470
Microwave Converter

The SC2470 Microwave Converter is a dual channel converter optimized for 6 to 26 GHz, engineered to seamlessly integrate with software defined radios (SDRs), including Analog Devices’ Mixed-Signal Front-End (MxFE), National Instruments’ USRP, and similar SDR platforms.
Typical Applications
- 5G FR3 Research and Development
- Aerospace and Defense Application Prototyping
- Software Defined Radio Applications
- Advanced Wireless Communications Research
The converter supports both Time Division Duplex (TDD) and Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) modes. RF ports incorporate 3.5mm connectors for FDD TX and RX functions, along with a bidirectional TDD port.
A UHD Port, compatible with Ettus URSP X400 Series SDRs, is included with the module. UHD Driver extensions are available on GitHub.
Power for the module is supplied by an included external 12-volt AC/DC converter. To manage heat, the unit features an embedded fan and temperature monitoring system.
Module control is facilitated through USB, UART, or SPI interfaces, with USB being the most convenient for most users. Embedded controllers can access the UART or SPI interfaces via external Control Ports.
Two API protocols are supported: an ASCII-based protocol following the SCPI structure defined in IEEE 488.2, and a binary protocol optimized for embedded control applications requiring speed and precise timing. Both protocols are detailed in an API Specification.
