Canary Remote Monitoring Units
The Canary products are remote monitoring units (RMUs) targeted at low-rate wireless data applications supporting reliable links over exceptionally long ranges. Extended battery life results in low maintenance costs on deployed networks. Canary is designed specifically to provide wireless connectivity for industrial sensors found in most monitoring applications, including 0 to10 V, 4 to 20 mA, Modbus, HART, and Wireless HART.
The embedded battery and wireless interface provide users with a stand-alone device that greatly simplifies installation and helps minimize infrastructure costs. With proper configuration, a battery life of several years can be expected.
Canary incorporates a Random Phase Multiple Access (RPMA) wireless modem, compatible with the Ingenu Network Access Point. RPMA is a groundbreaking wireless technology built from the ground up, specifically targeting sensors and other low data rate devices. It’s an end-to-end solution that provides an optimal mix of coverage, capacity, low-power consumption, and cost. It fills a significant gap in between currently available short range mesh radios and cellular M2M modems.
Random Phase Multiple Access (RPMA)
RPMA is a half-duplex system that operates in a star configuration. It is deployed using industry standard and time-tested modeling tools similar to those used in the mobile telephony industry. The system delivers the lowest cost of ownership in the industry and is simple to deploy, operate, and maintain.
Backup Power Supply
For high-rate monitoring applications, Canary supports an external power source, in which case the internal battery automatically converts to a backup supply.
IoT or Stand Alone
Canary can easily be incorporated into existing IoT systems or operated as a stand alone solution. SCT has extensive experience working with customers to deliver complete end-to-end solutions.
Industrial IoT Products
The SC6302 wireless pulse accumulator is a cost-reduced model with a mounting plate option that supports a variety of bolt-on applications for existing installations. It is primarily targeted for use in Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) applications and is well suited to installations requiring exceptional sensitivity and long battery life. More…
The SC6520 has a similar feature set to the SC6320 but is designed for operation in Class 1 Div 2 hazardous environments. It is targeted at low-rate wireless data applications requiring exceptional sensitivity and long battery life. It provides wireless connectivity for hazloc sensors, I/O, and instrumentation. More…
The SC6570 has an identical feature set to the SC6520 and includes support for serial pass through mode. When combined with SCT’s C-PORT Interface, the unit can operate as a serial bridge between the RPMA gateway and end-points. Both units are designed for operation in Class 1 Division 2 environments. The device was designed for externally powered applications. More…
