The Obstruction Light Remote Monitoring Unit (OLRMUs) is targeted at applications requiring reliable links over exceptionally long ranges. Extended battery life results in low maintenance costs. The OLRMU is compatible with incandescent and LED-based lighting systems. It is most commonly deployed in remote or hard-to-reach locations where obstruction lights must be monitored to satisfy Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.
The embedded battery and wireless interface provides users with a stand-alone device that greatly simplifies installation and helps minimize infrastructure costs. With proper configuration, a battery life of several years can be expected. The device can be externally powered via AC or DC sources.
