Quick-Turn Prototyping

SCT maintains excellent working relationships with several local contract manufacturers and printed circuit fabrication houses to aid in the delivery of fast-turn prototyping. We can also introduce you to our network of low cost offshore manufacturers and vendors that offer world class, low cost volume production capabilities. We’re serious about design for manufacturing (DFM) and apply these techniques throughout each stage of the development process, so we work closely with our customers and manufacturing partners to achieve the lowest cost, highest yielding product design.

Regulatory  and Compliance

Another advantage of partnering with SCT is our long-standing relationship with regulatory and standards test facilities located within a ten-minute drive of our head office. These facilities are capable of delivering a broad range of acceptance testing that encompasses virtually all international regulatory, military, avionic, medical, environmental and safety standards plus a host of engineering consulting services.

Case Study: Interrogator for MEMS-Based Asset Tracking Solution

SCT was approached by an early-stage company to design a proof-of-concept platform. A key objective of the project was to keep costs to a minimum, due to limited funds. The platform was intended to support research into MEMS-Based Tracking solutions and provide a demonstration for fundraising activities with potential investors. The platform was key to closing funding with an early investor.

After a successful fundraising round, SCT was re-engaged over several products to help evolve the concept through several prototype rounds. On the final project, we delivered a production ready solution for high-volume manufacturing in asia.

In addition to providing critical design services, SCT coordinated the  manufacturing of prototypes and early production units on behalf of the customer.

Project objectives:

    • Delivery of an integrated hardware solution incorporating multiple PCB modules, including custom industrial and mechanical design
    • Embed Linux Platform with customer hardware drivers for peripherals
    • Incorporation of timing critical functions implemented on FGPA
