Industrial Communications
Our solutions target demanding applications such as high-interference environments, safety-critical installations, and hazardous (explosive) locations.

Technologies
The breadth of IIoT applications and technology options is staggering. Selecting the right sensor, communication network, and frontend are critical to success. As an end-to-end solutions developer, we understand the individual components and their impact on the overall system.
Backhaul
Reliable wireless communication is paramount; but, other factors such as battery life, device density, range, and interference mitigation all play a role in selecting an appropriate backhaul and protocol. Cellular NB-IoT, LTE-M, 802.11abgx (WiFi), Sigfox, Random Phase Multiple Access (RPMA), Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), other low-power wide-area network (LPWAN), and satellite each have their strengths and weaknesses.
Industrial Communications Products
Many of our current products are based on LPWAN technology, but we are currently adding support for other backhaul technologies such as NB-IoT and satellite communications.
Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)
The Canary family is a line of remote monitoring products targeted at low-rate data applications supporting reliable links over exceptionally long distances. These products can be combined with SCT’s data historian and alarming application, Mercury, and operate as a standalone platform or integrated into a customer’s existing data infrastructure. Variants exist that support most industrial sensor interfaces including 0-20 V, 4-20 mA, Modbus, HART, and Wireless HART.
Obstruction Lighting Monitors
The Obstruction Lighting Remote Monitoring Unit (RMU) is an intelligent sensing system that integrates with new or existing systems to provide robust, wide-area monitoring capability. The RMU supports analog and digital FAA Style A0- and A1-Certified and other lighting applications.
Testimonials
Cohda has engaged SCT for RF PCB designs on three generations of our products and assistance for a fourth RF PCB design. I personally have been involved in the Cohda Wireless / SCT projects for two years now. The first project ended up with a best-in-class 802.11p RF circuit (both Rx and Tx), and the second RF project (a follow-on) managed to improve even further. The second project also involved a complete digital microprocessor element, which SCT comfortably managed to get working without major rework. The first prototype units were already mature enough to be shipped to customers for their software validation. SCT has proven time-and-again that they are a highly competent design house. The in-house experience that SCT brings to the table is visible from the word go. I can highly recommend using SCT as a design house, and would prefer to use them again on future products.

SignalCraft came strongly recommended to me by an industry-leading wireless design firm. Although our product lines are outside the norm of wireless communications systems, SignalCraft’s breadth and depth of expertise and their willingness to work with us to resolve challenging technical issues allowed us to achieve performance beyond what we thought possible within our constraints of size, time, and money. SignalCraft worked closely with our hardware, firmware, and FPGA designers each week to track progress and implement design changes where necessary. From the outset of our three projects through to board manufacture, SignalCraft’s staff and management supported us and showed steady commitment to our firm’s success even under very challenging circumstances. All aspects of our projects – right through to delivery of design documentation and support through manufacture – were completed on-budget and on-time. I would recommend SignalCraft highly to firms with complex board design needs.

I have used Signalcraft’s services twice now over two companies. In a previous company, I used Signalcraft to perform a lot of RF and Complex Power Supply design and analysis. The Engineers at SCT were able to perform the work in short order and in a quality manner. When I moved to OnRampWireless, and I needed a lot of varied Engineering resources quickly, I turned to SCT. As a startup we had many demands for fast turn development and updates on many product fronts. SCT was able to do extensive RF/digital design, RF/digital/analogue ATE development, drive FCC/ETSI certification, and perform detailed schematic capture and tight RF PCB layout. SCT was able to parachute in and quickly act on any, or all of these disciplines, depending on the product of the day. SCT Engineers have always given good reliable advice that has stood the test of time. Even though we are separated by distance, SCT was always able to keep the communications flowing and deliver to tight schedules. Good project management on their side has been a cornerstone of our successful product co-development.

We contracted SignalCraft to develop an RFID board for one of our products. They dedicated resources to the project and worked with other technology vendors to provide an optimized and timely solution. SignalCraft’s project management was as good as its engineering. We had constant feedback on all issues and accurate estimates of project costs. I would be glad work with them again and I heartily recommend them.

Bluechiip approached SignalCraft to help with a proof of concept platform to help with the validation and demonstration of its MEMS-based tracking solution. A key objectives was to design a flexible platform that would allow the Bluechiip team to explore new concepts for future products. Time was critical as demonstrations had been scheduled with key customers. The demonstration platform required RF-analog, FPGA and embedded controller expertise. The short term project was successfully realized by SignalCraft while the Bluechiip team focused on core IP development. The platform created by SignalCraft continues to provide an essential ingredient for successful customer demonstrations and the development of Bluechiip commercial opportunities, while at the same time providing a flexible environment for the development and testing of rapidly-evolving core IP in multiple markets.

Our relationship with SignalCraft allows us to access a wide variety of RF capabilities as needed. They are large enough to provide the expertise we need, but not so large that we worry about continuity. NovAtel has worked with RF consultants before, but none had the expertise with volume production or experience with working offshore. Once into the project, SignalCraft exceeded our expectations in both technical quality and commitment to meeting our deliverables. They were able to quickly supply us with high-caliber documents and reports. We are looking forward to a long-term strategic relationship with SignalCraft.

SOMA Networks chose to work with SignalCraft based on a referral from an internal source. We came to them with a difficult problem that required a real partnership. This was a large project over multiple locations and SignalCraft was able to work within these constraints very well. Although we have a small radio group internally, radio design is not our key area of expertise. Outsourcing allowed us to focus on our core technologies. SignalCraft’s ability to get into our internal organization was beyond what I would normally expect, it was a seamless relationship. Simply put, our expectations were high. SignalCraft met and exceeded them. We would definitely work with SignalCraft again
